About Unofficial Sugar Bowl

Hi!

Inspired by Unofficial Alpine,  I thought we Sugar Bowl skiers needed a site of our own.

Contributions are welcome!  Do you have something to say about Sugar or life in the area?  Your heated opinion on Crow’s peak?  Your sick new video from the mountain?  Get in touch, we intend for the site to be open to everyone in our community.

Who am I?  Nobody special.  Just another local who spends too much time at Sugar Bowl.

  1. Hi “John”,

As a recent sugar bowl fan, what I would love to see is a section of summaries and comments about runs. A list of runs, maybe organized by lift, and people could post descriptions, revews, etc of the run. When its good, when its bad, what sort of skier (boarder) will enjoy it most, photos, etc . . . .

  2. I work at the bowl and I was wondering if you wanted to know if you would want me to ask the marketing department if I could give you a few files of the maps and other info about the resort. I couldn’t see how it would hurt the company and I’m sure it might help the look and feel of your site if you had more content to work with.

  3. I was just reading through the changes for next year’s passes. They are … disappointing, to say the least. Not just the changes themselves, but the “justification”… for example, the reciprocal pass program to Squalpine is going away, and the justification is that that will make the SB experience better on peak days.

Huh? Oh, because so many Squaw pass holders were coming to SB? That doesn’t really add up. It’s true that Squaw had a lot of days of wind/storm holds, but I can’t believe that justifies taking the reciprocal pass program away.

I’m sad to see SB succumbing to the same corporate-speak that Squaw has been specializing in the past few years.
