Seventh annual cave party!

Please join the Unofficial Sugar Bowl Ski Team for our SEVENTH (!!) annual closing day cave party!

Disco Cat, Will Spins and surprise guests will be playing tunes for your earballs.   Wear a onesie or costume, bring something to share or just your fine-ass self.

When: Closing day, Sunday, April 17th

Where: Disney cave, between Eagle and Avalanche.  Take the spine toward Disney Nose… there will be a sign for Eagle dropping to skier’s left, take it.   Then ski underneath (downhill side) the giant rock on skier’s right.  Alternately (easier, better coverage), you can take Duck about halfway down and then do a traverse to skier’s right, aiming for the downhill (left) side of the giant rock.

Spring Pow!

Of course this weird season is ending with a final week of storms.  It wasn’t bottomless, but it was a legit, super-fun pow day out there for sure!

More on the way this week..

Spring Uphilling and farewell to J side

Team Unofficial out at the Uphiller, hell yeah!  Had lots of fun skinning and heckling the rando racers without costumes.  Next year we should make anyone costume-less wear a penalty tutu on lap 2.

And we bid goodbye to J side for the season… not too many days left to get out there and get after it.  See you there!

Freaky Friday!

There was a snow leopard on the slopes today… that wasn’t me!  I’m sporting my spring disguise.  🙂

Happy 2022!

Wow, what a storm cycle!  I managed to make it to Sugar for some fresh turns just before 80 closed down for three days, haha.  The slightly-restricted train arrives back at the Bowl this sunny Sunday.   Missed us?

Opening day

I’m sorry, was your weekday, passholder-only powder day not amazeballs enough yet?  Storm is quickly picking up?  Lots of people already left for the day?

Lincoln.  1:30.

Best patrol in Tahoe.  *drops mic*

Opening day is Friday, December 17th

No official announcement yet, but our super secret sources tell us the 17th is the day.  😉

The wait has been tough after October’s freak storm teased us early, but it’s finally about to be over.  6+ feet are on the way next week to set things up.  Wow.  I’d imagine Sugar will open the whole mountain except Crow’s, assuming they have enough staff.

Count ’em, that’s nine days of lift-served skiing this year for those of us on the slightly restricted bus.  Get out there, get your send on and make them count!

Sixth Annual Closing Day Cave Party!

Please join the Unofficial Sugar Bowl Ski Team for our sixth (wow!!) annual closing day cave party!

Disco cat will be playing tunes for your earballs.   Rock your best spring costume, bring something to share (safely) or just your fine-ass self.

When: Closing day, Sunday, April 18th

Where: Disney cave (on Eagle trail, follow your ears)

Beacon park is REAL.. and a new closing date!

Beacon park is REAL, friends, that wasn’t an April Fool’s joke.  🙂

I heard a rumor yesterday that the season will be extended past April 11th.. I didn’t believe it.. but I’m happy to say I was wrong.  Day tickets are now being sold for an extra week!

Cave party RESCHEDULED for Sunday, April 18th!
